We build Marqio because trademark clearance in practice is still a PDF export from the TMview interface that nobody can reuse. A file must be more than a screenshot. Every hit in Marqio carries a register ID, timestamp and source. Every run is reproducible. Every decision stays legible — even two years later.
What Marqio is
- Three tools for the company name: find a name, check the trademark, check the domain — each usable on its own.
- A file, not advice. The run delivers evidence. Legal assessment remains with counsel.
- A tool for two roles. Founders see a clear verdict. Counsel sees the same dataset with register IDs, similarity scores and hash chain.
What Marqio is not
- No trademark office. We do not file anything.
- No registrar. We compare domain prices and link out.
- No legal advice. The disclaimer is on every dossier.
- No chatbot. Marqio answers only questions that produce a file.
Why Marqio
Marqio comes out of a frustration.
We have founded companies more often than we cared to over the past few years. And every time it ran the same way: finding a name, somewhere between café and spreadsheet. Trademark clearance, because a cease-and-desist is the worst thing that can happen to a young company. Calling a lawyer who is friendly but expensive. Comparing domains in every permutation. Briefing a designer, a few rounds of feedback, eventually a logo that more or less fits.
The same routine with every new company. And every time with the feeling that the same work is being done all over again.
At some point it was clear: most of this is busywork. Comparing classes, checking name similarity, collecting domain prices, drafting a clean logo brief — that can be a tool.
Marqio is exactly that. Three tools, each answering its question, at the end a file with verdict and evidence. For founders who want to ship an MVP without first hiring half an agency and a lawyer. The logo? Specialists do it better — we recommend them.
At first, Marqio was our own tool for the next company. That it now takes the same stretch off others’ hands was not the plan, but is the point.
