F-01Is Marqio legal advice?
No. Marqio screens public trademark registers and stores the result as a case file: hits with register number, class and timestamp. The legal assessment and the filing remain with a law firm. Every run carries the note "Screening · Not Legal Advice".
F-02Which registers does Marqio search?
The EU + Switzerland clearance searches EUIPO (EU trade marks), the national registers of all 27 EU states and Switzerland, 29 registers in total. The International clearance adds UKIPO and WIPO/Madrid (31 registers). Queries run via TMview, the search platform of the European trade mark offices operated by EUIPO; EU trade marks first via the EUIPO Trademark Search API. The free quick check covers EUIPO and DPMA.
F-03How is the verdict formed?
Deterministically from two signals: similarity to the hit — phonetic (Metaphone variant) and in spelling (normalised Levenshtein distance) — and overlap with your Nice classes. Conflict: an active mark in your classes with similarity of 0.85 or more. Watch: similar active marks from 0.70 in your classes. Clear: none of these. Similar marks in other classes are shown but do not decide the verdict. Expired and withdrawn marks do not count.
F-04What does a clearance cost?
The quick check is free. The clearance costs €9.90 for EU + Switzerland and €19.90 international, each with three Nice classes; each additional class costs €5. Final prices incl. VAT, no subscription. It is charged only once the search has finished; if no register responds, nothing is charged.
F-05How does credit work?
You load €20, €50, €100 or your own amount from €20 in your account under Billing. Searches in the web app, in Claude and in ChatGPT are charged to it. Credit never expires; we refund the remainder on request. Credit from the former token model is held 1:1 in euros.
F-06Can I use Marqio in Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, as a connector. After signing in with your Marqio account, your assistant can suggest classes, run one free quick check per day and start clearances. It states the price before each search, and it is only charged after you confirm. The case file is also stored in Marqio.
F-07What if a register does not respond?
The result lists the register as not reached — it is not counted as "clear". You can retry it in the case file at no extra cost.
F-08Can I change the classes afterwards?
Yes. In the case file you re-rate the same hits against other classes, without a new register query and at no extra cost. Every re-rating is stored as a separate run; the original one is kept.
F-09Does Marqio store my searches permanently?
Your case files are append-only and kept as long as your account exists. Deleting means archiving — the record is marked, not overwritten. Full deletion on request, subject to statutory retention obligations.
