F-01Is Marqio legal advice?
No. Marqio is a file. Every search returns hits with register ID, class and timestamp. Legal assessment remains with counsel. Every run carries the marker "Screening · Not Legal Advice".
F-02How does the trademark clearance work?
Marqio queries EUIPO, the national registers of every EU member state, Swissreg (CH), UKIPO (UK), WIPO (Madrid System ~130 member states) and USPTO (USA) directly. WIPO via TMview WO office (D-151); USPTO directly via tmsearch.uspto.gov (D-152). Hits are compared with the candidate phonetically, visually and semantically. The verdict — Clear, Watch, Conflict — is derived deterministically from thresholds and class overlap.
F-03What is a run?
A run is the full chain clearance → domain → summary for one candidate. It counts only when clearance starts. Naming proposals and creating a file do not count.
F-04What does an additional run cost?
Marqio bills pay-per-use in tokens — 1 token = 1 cent. Every action (naming, mini or full clearance, domain slot, logo iteration, dossier asset) has a fixed token price; concrete values and a calculator are at /pricing. The 500-token welcome bonus covers a first trial run; afterwards you buy token packs as a one-off purchase or as a 12-month subscription with a 25% discount.
F-05How are prices stated?
All prices shown are net, plus statutory VAT. For business customers with a valid EU VAT ID, the reverse-charge procedure applies and the invoice is issued without German VAT.
F-06How is the logo brief billed?
The logo brief runs only after the final name is chosen. Every logo-brief call is an iteration and consumes tokens from the file balance. Concrete token prices and packs are listed at /pricing. A name switch counts as a new iteration.
F-07Can I register the domain directly through Marqio?
No. Marqio compares prices across four partner registrars (Namecheap, Porkbun, IONOS, Gandi) and links via affiliate outlink. Registration happens at the registrar.
F-08How do I cancel?
One-off token packs require no cancellation — they are one-time purchases. Subscription token packs run with a twelve-month minimum term and renew monthly thereafter; they can be cancelled at the end of the term in the customer dashboard. Welcome bonus and file data are preserved regardless.
F-09Does Marqio store my ideas permanently?
Your file is append-only and kept as long as your account exists. Deletion means archiving — the record stays but is marked with `deleted_at`. Full deletion on request, subject to statutory retention obligations.
F-10What is the basis of the verdict logic?
The verdict — Clear, Watch, Conflict — is deterministic. It combines three signals: phonetic similarity (Levenshtein and Metaphone), visual distance (logo image comparison, where available) and semantic proximity (class headers, industry proximity). The thresholds are documented and reproducible per run. A "Watch" verdict does not mean "uncertain"; it means "requires manual review".
