F-01Is Marqio legal advice?
No. Marqio is a file. Every search returns hits with register ID, class and timestamp. Legal assessment remains with counsel. Every run carries the marker "Screening · Not Legal Advice".
F-02How does the trademark clearance work?
Marqio queries EUIPO, the national registers of every EU member state, Swissreg (CH), UKIPO (UK), WIPO (Madrid System ~130 member states) and USPTO (USA) directly. WIPO runs via the WO office of TMview, USPTO directly via tmsearch.uspto.gov. Hits are compared with the candidate phonetically and visually. The verdict — Clear, Watch, Conflict — is derived deterministically from thresholds and class overlap.
F-03What is a run?
A run is one started clearance for one name. Finding names, the domain check and creating a case file do not count. For founders the run is not a billing unit — you pay per full clearance at a flat price. Firm quotas count in full clearances per month.
F-04What does an additional run cost?
Finding names, the domain check and the trademark quick check are free. You only pay for the full clearance — as a one-off flat price: €9.90 for EU + Switzerland, €19.90 international, €24.90 for the 3-pack. All amounts gross incl. VAT, no subscription. Firms book quotas from €99 net.
F-05How are prices stated?
The full clearance is stated as a gross flat price — the amount shown is the final price including statutory VAT. Firm quotas are net prices plus VAT; for business customers with a valid EU VAT ID, the reverse-charge procedure applies and the invoice is issued without German VAT.
F-06Does Marqio do logos?
No. Logos and corporate identity are for specialists — at /design Marqio compares the partners Kittl, Looka and 99designs and describes what a good logo brief contains. Marqio remains research with evidence. Existing files with previously generated logo assets stay accessible.
F-07Can I register the domain directly through Marqio?
No. Marqio compares prices across four partner registrars (Namecheap, Porkbun, IONOS, Gandi) and links to the registrar; Marqio can receive a commission for referred registrations. Registration happens at the registrar.
F-08How do I cancel?
The full clearance is a one-off purchase — there is nothing to cancel. Firm quotas run monthly and can be cancelled at any time effective at the end of the current billing month, in the customer dashboard. File data and existing credit are unaffected. Token subscriptions concluded before 2026-08-28 keep the terms agreed at the time.
F-09Does Marqio store my ideas permanently?
Your file is append-only and kept as long as your account exists. Deletion means archiving — the record stays but is marked with `deleted_at`. Full deletion on request, subject to statutory retention obligations.
F-10What is the basis of the verdict logic?
The verdict — Clear, Watch, Conflict — is deterministic. It combines two signals: name similarity to the hit — phonetic (Metaphone variant) and visual in the sense of spelling (normalised Levenshtein distance) — and the overlap of Nice classes between the case and the hit. Conflict requires both: high similarity and class overlap. The thresholds are documented and reproducible per run. A "Watch" verdict does not mean "uncertain"; it means "requires manual review".
