What Marqio does and who builds it.

We build Marqio because trademark clearance in practice is still a PDF export from the TMview interface that nobody can reuse. A file must be more than a screenshot. Every hit in Marqio carries a register ID, timestamp and source. Every run is reproducible. Every decision stays legible — even two years later.
What Marqio is
- Trademark clearance with evidence: up to 31 registers, a verdict with its reason, every hit with register number and link.
- A file, not advice. The run delivers evidence. Legal assessment remains with counsel.
- A tool for two roles. Founders see a clear verdict. Counsel sees the same dataset with filing dates, representatives and similarity scores.
What Marqio is not
- No trademark office. We do not file anything.
- No legal advice. The disclaimer is on every dossier.
- No chatbot. Marqio answers only questions that produce a file.
Why Marqio
Marqio comes out of a frustration.
We have founded companies more often than we cared to over the past few years. And every time the same question came up early: may we use this name? A cease-and-desist is the worst thing that can happen to a young company. So: clicking through TMview, guessing classes, calling a lawyer who is friendly but expensive — before anyone knew whether the name was worth it.
The same routine with every new company. And every time with the feeling that the same work is being done all over again.
At some point it was clear: most of this is busywork. Querying registers, comparing classes, checking name similarity, sorting hits — that can be a tool. The assessment stays with the lawyer.
Marqio is exactly that: one search, at the end a case file with verdict and evidence. For founders who want certainty before the first invoice, and for law firms who want the preliminary search ready in minutes.
At first, Marqio was our own tool for the next company. That it now takes the same stretch off others’ hands was not the plan, but is the point.
